This is a west-bank town of about nine hundred people, sitting opposite the county seat where Cypress Creek comes into the Tennessee River. The reach in front of it is tailwater — the river below Pickwick Landing Dam, the head of Kentucky Lake rather than any part of the lake behind the dam.
